About Member

SCI-Japan was established in October 2019 as a private sector-led not-for-profit organization as a knowledge and public-private-academic partnership platform to promote the expansion and advancement of smart cities in Japan. Our member is over 770 entities including Japanese major corporations, Japanese ministries, local governments, universities and NPOs. Our member includes foreign embassies and international organizations in Japan. These are our major activities: 1. Share information and raise awareness for smart cities (large-scale forums, webinars, report columns and newsletters) 2. Promote smart city development in cooperative areas (develop policy proposals and conduct workshops) - Develop and promote the “Liveable & Well-Being City Indicator”, a set of KPI developed by SCI-Japan - Develop and provide a smart city human resource development program (“City-Region MAP Program”) 3. Support networking among SCI-Japan members (individual matching support, social gathering at events, web salons) 4. Conduct smart city overseas study tours. We have been exhibiting Japan Smart City Booth at Smart City Expo World Congress in Barcelona since 2022.
